余新国，华中师范大学伍伦贡联合研究院院长、国家数字化学习工程技术研究中心教授、博士生导师、澳洲伍伦贡大学名誉教授，湖北省智能科教研究会会长，IEEE、ACM、CCF高级会员，中国自动化学会“智慧教育专业委员会”副主任委员。先后获得武汉理工大学的数学学士学位，华中科技大学的软件硕士学位，新加坡南洋理工大学的计算机应用硕士学位，新加坡国立大学的计算机科学博士学位。拥有30多年的研究经历，其中有18在新加坡从事研究。长期以来从事智能教育技术、视频分析、计算机视觉、人机交互、多媒体技术、智能科教等方面的研究，目前的研究重点领域是智能科教、机器解答、教育机器人。在国内外权威期刊和知名国际会议上发表了论文130多篇，其中SCI论文20多篇，第一作者的论文有60多篇，有7项国际专利，10项国内专利。担任国际期刊International Journal of Digital Crime and Forensics副主编，International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence的客座主编，担任Expert Systems With Applications、IEEE Transactions on Multimedia、IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for VideoTechnology、IEEE Transactions on Image Processing、Computer Vision and Image Understanding、Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation、Pattern Recognition、Pattern Recognition Letters等10多个国际著名期刊和国际顶级会议AAAI的审稿人。担任Pacific-Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology指导委员会成员和2017至2019主席，出任10多个国际会议的大会主席，领导主办了多项国际会议，包括International Conference on Internet Multimedia Computing and Service 2012 、 Pacific-Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology 2017、International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Education 2021等。创办了智能科教领域国际会议International Conference on Intelligent Education and Intelligent Research (IEIR)。
