Qiu Wei is a Special Associate Professor at the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence and New Forms of Education and the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education. She has been shortlisted for the Hubei High-Level Talent Project. She holds a PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship (Senior Data Scientist) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. During this time, she led and participated in projects such as the Early AlRet for Learning Intervention (EARLI) project and the NTU AI Learning Assistants (NALA) project.  Her primary research areas include learning analytics and educational data mining, academic performance prediction and at-risk student detection, as well as machine learning and AI applications in education.
